Snapshot Sunday

Winter can suck it.  But, here is Three's snow angel.

One and Two spent the snow days looking at old journals and notebooks and laughing A LOT.  (They both had all sorts of notebooks and journals that they wrote/drew in from the time they were 8 until they were probably 12....I kept them all and they dug them out of the attic.)

And, coloring.

"No, no...it's ok mom, I'll just lay right here."

Short vowel word sort.

Testing for Yellow Belt.

This is what happens when I say "go do something else while your brother reads to me."  I clearly mean "wrap yourself in the blanket and lie on the floor 2 ft from me."

The sloth at our science museum was very active when we were there this week!

After co-op we went to the park, rode the merry-go-round and the train.

This picture is from a hike we did in January but the friend that took it just sent it to me, and I had to share.  This kid and his dimples.  <3 p="">

Manic Monday

Argh!  This weekend just got away with me. I was sick ALL day Saturday, like...couldn't get out of bed sick. So yesterday we had a "mock" Valentine's Day dinner. Remember the great dinner plans I mentioned?  And that cake I was going to bake?  Those things happened. Just belated. Luckily, my kids were really understanding about the whole thing. Two had a virus on Thursday/Friday and judging by symptomology she passed that a long to me. Nausea, intense headache, dizzy, weak, chills and sweating. It was a party up in here. The upside(s)?  No puking and it was a quick mover..about 24 hrs.

I did manage to pull together our V-Day celebrations together but it took all my strength. Hoping a good nights sleep is going to give me what I need to get through my classes this morning.

Here are our pics from last week (since I crashed hard last night and didn't get up our Sunday Snapshots.)

Ninjas dancing "gangnam style"

Making out Valentines for their co-op friends

Making a species card in one of the amazing lab facilities that our science museum has to offer.

Trying to get a pic of them before we went to the theater last week.

Outside the theater (this was Four's shot set-up)

Man down, man down!  (I don't make a habit of snapping pics of my kids sick..but The Bestie's middlest daughter's birthday party was roughly 24 hours of the time of this pic, and I used it to tell The Bestie why we would be unable to come.). She slept off and on, on the couch where her brothers were being loud, for 6 hours. It was a rough virus, this one.

I got this great hand made hat from a Canadian friend this week. Can't wait to wear it this morning.

Valentine's candy heart experiments. (Four leaned back right as I snapped the shot, and I never have claimed to be a good photog...so there you have it.)

A lego creation from the mind of Three:

Sunday snapshots

Lots of Lego building.

This is myself, The Bestie, and The Lyonesse on the lawn at the Matt Nathanson concert.

Here is Matt on stage. He pointed at us in the crowd, no joke!  We were the only people standing in our section (apparently everyone else was there to see Gavin Degraw...who was also very good, but WE were there because of Matt!)

After the show we were first in line for a "meet and greet," and he hugged me!  Asked my name. And was just overall freaking adorable. Dimple. Nose-ring. Adorable.

Spent time with cousins (this is Four with my sister's youngest.)

My sister's third with my One and Two.

Something my children created. It's supposed to be a "mobile" and Four was being the baby.

I've been cutting up shirts, this one is specifically for my Zumba convention!!

Lastly, Four left his beloved stuffed meerkat (technically, he has two stuffed meerkats) at the park because he didn't listen to me and leave him in the car.  After a couple weeks, reality that David Jr was REALLY gone and tearfully asking The Punk if "people can just find stuff laying around and take it home with them??" The Punk found him a replacement David Jr. He was super-excited , and Three just wanted to be in the pic.

Sunday snapshots

For 1st grade co-op this year, we've been working on Spanish a lot.  They did mariposa coloring sheets.

Enjoying a beautiful day at the park while Two had her guitar lesson.

After guitar lesson, the other homeschooled kids in our neighborhood came down and they all hung out in the yard.  My favorite part of this pic?  The kids are 18, 15, 14, 11, 7 and 4.  And they all spent a couple hours hanging out.

My Friday night date.

Saturday afternoon date with Four.  We took a trip to the Durham Museum of Life and Science.

We had to read all of the educational boards on the Dinosaur Trail.

He is super sensitive to smell!  LOL

This was probably his favorite thing.  He is steering a sailboat on a pool of water.  You can just SEE the joy.

And playing a little music before we go!

Every now and then, my kids do random things that are so "me!"  This is one of them.  His feet up on the dash, just like mama.
